This one was a little different for us - an out-of-state homeowner needed work done on their vacation getaway near the Ocoee River. They weren't on-site to oversee things, which means they had to trust us completely. That's not something we take lightly.
The goal was straightforward: a solid 30x40 concrete slab to support a metal carport and RV setup. Before we ever poured a drop of concrete, we got the base right. Gravel compacted, wire mesh laid out, forms set level and square. That prep work is what separates a slab that lasts decades from one that starts cracking in a few years.
Wire mesh reinforcement gets embedded throughout the pour - you don't want an unreinforced slab carrying the weight of an RV and a metal structure. The concrete chute reached right across the form, and we worked it section by section to keep everything consistent. No shortcuts on a job like this.
What you end up with is a clean, flat slab with sharp edges and a smooth finish. Something the homeowner can pull their RV onto, set up a carport over, and not think twice about. That's really the point - you build it right so they never have to worry about it.
Whether it's a primary home, a cabin getaway, or an investment property, the same standards apply. Concrete doesn't care who's watching. We do the job the same way every time.
