This one came together as a surprise gift - and we think it turned out pretty great. A customer reached out wanting to do something special for her husband: a solid concrete floor under his existing open-air structure so he'd have a real place to work on his tractor. No more gravel shifting underfoot, no mud, no fighting the ground every time he needs to get under the equipment.
We poured a 25x15 slab at 6 inches thick. That extra thickness matters a lot when you're talking about heavy equipment sitting or rolling over it. A standard 4-inch slab works fine for foot traffic and light use, but if you've got a tractor, a skid steer, or anything with real weight behind it, you want that additional depth. It's the difference between a slab that lasts and one that starts showing cracks within a few years.
The finished surface came out clean and smooth - properly finished and control-jointed to give the concrete room to move without random cracking. It fits right up under the existing structure, giving a covered work space that's functional from edge to edge. Before this, it was all gravel under that roof. Now it's a legitimate shop floor.
That's the kind of concrete work we genuinely enjoy. It's not flashy, but it solves a real problem. Whether it's a carport pad, a shop floor, an equipment bay, or just a spot to park something heavy - a properly poured slab makes everything easier and holds up for decades when it's done right.
If you've got a covered structure sitting on dirt or gravel and you've been thinking about adding a concrete floor, this is exactly the type of work we do. Same goes for anyone starting from scratch and needing a pad built for real working conditions.
